Le Duff America, which owns Bruegger’s Bagels, Brioche Dorees, La Madeleine and Mimi’s Café, has selected Neuron ESB application and web services integration software to connect disparate systems of its restaurants into the corporate infrastructure. Neuron ESB 3.5 implementation is currently underway, and supports connection of Le Duff’s backend systems with HR, payroll, financial, invoicing and several third-party vendor systems throughout its restaurant properties.
Neuron ESB 3.5 is the latest version of the Neuron enterprise service bus built on Microsoft .NET. Neuron ESB integrates with Microsoft and non-Microsoft platforms, systems and applications to provide real-time, reliable and durable messaging, application integration, business processing, workflow, and web services management.
“We were supporting a variety of development languages – from .NET to Perl Script to Batch File. We had just about anything and everything you could think of,” said Mark Naples, senior director, IT Development & Technology for Le Duff America. “Now, instead of wasting time trying to figure out how a system interface works or how to modify it to make it fit, we just hook it up to Neuron ESB and boom, it’s done.”
The Neuron ESB application integration and web service platform is a true distributed enterprise service bus that can be deployed in the cloud, on premises or in a distributed (hybrid) topology. Neuron ESB ships with a complement of configurable connectors, processes and services. Users can develop custom connectors, message processing, business processes and system level services to extend out-of-the box functionality while maintaining consistent tooling and operational characteristics.
The flexibility of Neuron ESB’s publish/subscribe messaging model simplifies the process of modifying interfaces and integrating the systems of new acquisitions and franchises. Le Duff is able to leverage development work from previous interfaces and apply it to similar situations they encounter. With Le Duff’s back-end systems already set up as subscribers, IT simply sets up new systems as publishers and Neuron ESB completes the integration.
“After a successful Proof of Concept, we quickly got to work and trained Le Duff’s .NET developers to effectively implement the platform to solve their integration and consolidation challenges. They were amazed at how easy it was,” said Marty Wasznicky, general manager, Neuron ESB. “Since Neuron ESB is built on .NET, it has eliminated the need for Le Duff to support multiple programming languages, helping the company quickly streamline its IT infrastructure which has been especially helpful in the wake of the company’s recent acquisition strategy.”
