Financial Services
Given the market volility in the mortgage arena, it is paramount that financial service organizations cost-effectively and efficiently manage their internal processes. Chaotic processes combined with inflated IT maintenance costs results in lost business. One of the largest and oldest mortgage services provider companies in the industry uses a geographically disparate collection of processing centers interconnected via a collection of outdated, custom built components. The processing systems consist of a large number of identical processing center client applications, connected to a variety of back end systems. As mortgage applications enter the system, they are separated into a number of tasks that are executed concurrently by systems and processing center personnel.
A new global messaging infrastructure with exceptional performance, reliability, and extensibility is required to continue to remain a leader in this competitive environment. The organization chose Neuron ESB for its robust, high-performance, low latency, distributed messaging capabilities, as well as its elegant and easy to use tools, and developer API. It was selected to provide a global, high-performance, distributed, real-time messaging system, to power the next generation mortgage services platform. The flexible and powerful transport channel features of Neuron ESB provide an ideal solution for high performance messaging platforms.
The coordination of the various processing events is now synchronized and controlled by real-time messages flowing over the Neuron ESB. With more than 3,000 client instances, this architecture generates large messages volumes (on the order of 8 million per hour) that synchronize the concurrent tasks distributed among all of the clients. Messaging must be reliable to ensure all resources are managed effectively, and everything remains synchronized. Neuron ESB’s high performance peer channel messaging capabilities were used to provide this distributed messaging fabric. Keeping a complex, mission critical system up and running is also of paramount consideration. Neuron ESB leverages standard Microsoft management and instrumentation mechanisms such as WMI, event logs, and performance counters, allowing the use of industry standard tools to seamlessly monitor and control the system.
The financial services firm eliminated virtually all of the custom code required for their previous messaging system; dramatically reduced maintenance costs, and added considerably more features and functionality from the Neuron ESB platform. Enabling developers to focus on business functions instead of “plumbing”, dramatically increases their effectiveness, and reduces software development costs. The company found that creating a feature rich, robust, mission critical messaging infrastructure is considerably simpler when using Neuron ESB.
